Joint Venture Project of FitnessOne Foundation and Rotaract Club

Chennai: Fitness One Foundation in a joint venture with the Rotaract club presented a project named "Kids R Fit" in the aim of creating awareness about Health and fitness to school children on the 4th, 7th & 11th of August 2009.

The Fitness One Foundation aims to create awareness about health and fitness to the rural and urban community. One such initiative is to sensitize the school children on health and fitness. The Rotatract club has good rapport with the schools of Chennai and thus the foundation has tied with the club to implement these activities. This project is designed to create awareness about Health and fitness to the school children of about 1000 numbers. Hence, the project is named has "Kids R Fit".

The Project was launched by Mrs.Kalyani Kathiresan, Director-FitnessOne Foundation, Mrs.Malathi-Dean, Academy of Fitness Management, Mrs.Margarette Davidraj, Principal-Bakthavatchalam Vidyashram and Mr.Solomon, Governor Rotaract Club at Bakthavatchalam Vidayshram, Korattur.

The School Principal Mrs.Margarette David Raj spoke about Fitness One Foundation activity and its services to the community. The day's program consisted of sessions on Nutrition and simple stretches which can be easily followed by the children at home daily. This was followed by fitness exercises taught by Fitness One professional's team in which the children worked out with great interest and enthusiasm.

The program enabled the children to identify the various kinds of foods, its nutritional value and how to distinguish between good and junk food.

Trainers Mr.Prince Rockland, Mr.Karthik, Nutritionist- Ms.Sushmitha and Ms.Abigail carried out the session for the children.

The end of the event was marked with the distribution of brochures consisting of health tips and details of proper food menu along with drawing sheets.

In addition to this, to create more awareness about Health and Fitness among adolescent children, Fitness One also announced a drawing competition in which the best three drawings was selected and recognized with prizes. The topic for drawing was 'Anything related to fitness'.
